The quality and weight of your airsoft BBs can make a huge difference in accuracy, consistency, range, and overall performance. At East Coast Airsoft, we only stock high-quality 6mm airsoft BBs that we would personally use and recommend in our own airsoft guns.

Using cheap or poorly manufactured BBs can cause feeding problems, inconsistent accuracy, jams, and unnecessary wear on your airsoft gun. Quality BBs should be seamless, consistently sized, properly polished, and free of imperfections that can affect your hop-up, barrel, or magazine.

What Weight Airsoft BBs Should You Use?

As a general rule, heavier airsoft BBs provide better stability and accuracy, especially outdoors where wind has a greater effect on the BB. Heavier BBs travel slightly slower and cost a little more, but the improvement in consistency and effective range can be well worth it.

.20g Airsoft BBs are a great choice for lower-powered airsoft guns, rental guns, inexpensive pistols, indoor play, and chronograph testing.

.25g Airsoft BBs are one of the most popular all-around choices for AEGs and indoor airsoft guns. They offer a good balance of speed, accuracy, and cost.

.28g Airsoft BBs are an excellent choice for outdoor AEGs, gas blowback rifles, and HPA airsoft guns where increased stability and accuracy are important.

.30g and .32g Airsoft BBs are ideal for higher-performance outdoor airsoft guns and players looking for improved accuracy and consistency at longer distances.

.36g, .40g, .43g and heavier BBs are commonly used in DMRs, bolt-action airsoft sniper rifles, and other setups designed to take advantage of heavier ammunition.

The best BB weight ultimately depends on your airsoft gun, hop-up system, power level, and where you play. Any properly manufactured 6mm airsoft BB may physically fit your gun, but choosing the right weight can significantly improve how well it performs.

Green Gas & CO₂ for Airsoft Guns

Gas-powered airsoft pistols and rifles commonly use either green gas or CO₂, depending on the model. Green gas is widely used in gas blowback airsoft pistols and rifles, while CO₂-powered airsoft guns typically use disposable 12-gram CO₂ cartridges.

Always use the gas type recommended for your specific airsoft gun. Using the wrong type of gas or CO₂ magazine can cause poor performance, excessive wear, or damage. We carry green gas, CO₂ cartridges, and other gas-powered airsoft supplies for compatible pistols and rifles.
